THE POSITIVE EFFECTS OF COLOURS AND HOW COLOURS CAN AFFECT YOUR MOOD

When it comes to what we wear and design our homes and accessories that we may choose, one thing sticks out. Colour. Aside from colour being a part of our personal tastes, colour has a much bigger impact on us than we may realise.

In fact, the colour that surrounds us can affect our mood, with some colours having a positive impact and some negative.

Here are the main colours and the impact that they have on our mood.

Blue

For some, blue might be linked to feeling sad, but the truth about blue is that it is actually more connected to being calm and serene. It is peaceful, it is tranquil, and it is linked to not only the sky above us but also the water crashing on the beach too.

When you see the colour blue, you are likely to feel stable and safe and know what to expect from the world around you.

Red

Red is a bold colour, which means that it is most likely to create strong emotions. Where blue calms you down and helps you to feel at peace, red could be the colour to ignite a fire within you. Red will help you bring p your energy levels, making you feel passionate and fiery.

Red is often attributed to danger, which can mean that it heightens your sense of awareness and can even make you feel uncomfortable.

Yellow

One of the brightest colours out there goes without saying that yellow is a colour that will make you feel warm inside and out. But, as well as this, yellow is attributed as being a colour that makes you feel happy and joyful, no matter what you face.

Yellow is a burst of energy; it is zingy, fresh, and gets you going. That said, some people can find that yellow is too brash, too intense and too overwhelming, which is not ideal when it comes to spaces that you are going to want to unwind in.

Green

The colour green is linked to nature; it helps you think of green grass in a field or a beautiful forest of trees. Green makes you feel refreshed and renewed for many people, just like you are ready to face the world and whatever it may throw at you.

That said, green is also a colour that can make you feel safe, secure, and calm. This is why you will often see the green feature in hotels, as it allows guests to settle in quickly.

No matter the colour you choose, it is essential to remember that you think about your sense of style and the impact that the colours may have on you. For example, if you want to feel relaxed and calm, maybe stick with green or blue. However, if you want a burst of energy to get you through the day, then yellow might be a better option for you to consider.
