You may not realise it, but when it comes to everyday life, there are two parts of the day that you need to get right to set up the rest of your day in a positive way. This is going to bed, getting to sleep, and getting up and preparing to face the day.
These two times of day are not only necessary, but the good news is that they are easy enough to get right. Want to know more? Here are some of the morning and night-time routine tips for you to try out for yourself.
Take time in the morning to be silent
Our lives are busy, and there are times that we will feel that we are completely overwhelmed, right from the moment that we open our eyes. We might not enjoy some silence as the day goes on, but when we first get up, we can take control. Make time for yourself to simply sit and be silent; it will clear your mind, ready for the day. It might mean that you have to get up a little bit earlier than you currently are, but we can promise you that it will be worth doing.
Repeat your affirmations
If you have taken the time to write yourself positive affirmations, then first thing in the morning is the ideal time to focus on these and repeat them to yourself. However, if you haven’t written any, then this doesn’t mean that you have to give up; you need to tell yourself some encouraging words, let yourself know that you believe that you can reach your goals. It is sometimes just those positive thoughts that will be enough to push you through the day ahead.
Think about your goals for the next day
When it comes to bedtime, you need to allow yourself the chance to focus on the things that you want to get done tomorrow. These are not always going to be huge things, but sometimes it is just the thought of what we need to get done, keeping our brains awake and active. Not only does this clear a busy mind, but it can also help you to plan for the next day and think about what you need to get to your end goal.
Reflect
One of the most important things you can do for yourself before you go to sleep is to reflect on what has happened that day. Hopefully, everything has been positive, and you can smile about the time you have spent. However, if things have been tricky, then taking a moment to reflect lets you make sense of the negative things and move them out of your brain.
Ultimately, your day should start in a way that is positive and should end reflective. That way, you can try and have as good a day as possible, and if anything was to go wrong, you can take the chance to reflect and think about whether or not there were things you could have done better.
